The federal budget proposal just passed by the US House of Representatives includes $880 Billion in spending cuts, most of which are likely to come from Medicaid.
If we don't act now, Republicans could cut healthcare funding and institute work requirements for Medicaid that would place impossible obstacles in the way of receiving coverage. In a quickly-tanking economy, that would mean millions of people barely getting by as it is could lose their access to healthcare entirely.
